This vineyard was established in 1981 and is situated in the picturesque Steels Creek Valley with sweeping views towards Mount Slide and the Kinglake National Park. There is an abundance of wildlife‚ contributing to the overall charm of the location. Visitors to the winery are warmly welcomed to taste their range of wines including Blanc de Blanc and Colombard.

11.45Next visit is to Sutherland Estate in Dixons Creek. Along with spectacular vineyard views, the cathedral-ceilinged cellar door with its elegant, spacious and light filled room is bounded by enormous floor to ceiling windows to the north and south. The estate wines are headed by a very good Chardonnay and the Spanish-origin Tempranillo varietal shows great promise.

12.45 – Virtually next door is the delightful Steels Gate (and ex-Shantell) vineyard & cellar door specialising in premium grape varieties such as Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cab Sauvignon, and Shiraz. The modern restaurant and tasting facilities with a combination of good food, good wines, and exceptional views make sitting down for a meal almost irresistible. The outlook is stunning and the Aboriginal art collection on display in the restaurant and cellar door is quite unique.

This winery is named after Vince & Lucy Corniola who after 27 years of successfully operating a highly popular restaurant in Carlton, realised their true passion was to produce quality wines as is their heritage from Italy. Standout wines with a difference are their Moscato, Petite Verdo, and Dolce Rosso.

3.15 – Next, we step into the boutique Yileena Park cellar door which is craftily designed to match the elegance of an old English reading room. You will feel right at home as you sit in plush tub chairs for a tasting with a difference. Here, you will taste traditionally made, barrel-aged wines which are complimented with an amazing range of cold-smoked culinary goods.

4.30 – Final visit is to Oak Tree Vineyard in Coldstream. This little vineyard and farm cellar door will surprise you with their small range of hand-picked and minimally processed Pinot Noir, Rose and Cabernet Sauvignon.
