Hidden Gems Tour (Northern Sub-Region)
WEEKENDS ONLYThis Northern quarter of the Yarra Valley with loam soil surfaced over a rock-studded clay base, make it ideal for growing premium wine grapes that produce soft, elegant wines.
9.30am – Personal pickup from your accommodation or home in Melbourne CBD, metro suburb; or 10.00 am if you’re staying in the Yarra Valley.

10.30 – First visit is to Steels Creek Estate cellar door. This vineyard was established in 1981 and is situated in the picturesque Steels Creek Valley with sweeping views towards Mount Slide and the Kinglake National Park. There is an abundance of wildlife‚ contributing to the overall charm of the location. Visitors to the winery are warmly welcomed to taste their range of wines including Blanc de Blanc and Colombard.

12.45 – Virtually next door is the delightful Steels Gate (and ex-Shantell) vineyard & cellar door

2.15 – We then visit and enter the winemaking world of Corniola Wines. This winery is named after Vince & Lucy Corniola who after 27 years of successfully operating a highly popular restaurant in Carlton,

3.15 – Next, we step into the boutique Yileena Park cellar door which is craftily designed to match the elegance of an old English reading room. You will feel right at home as you sit in plush tub chairs for a tasting with a difference. Here, you will taste traditionally made, barrel-aged wines which are complimented with an amazing range of cold-smoked culinary goods.

4.30 – Final visit is to Oak Tree Vineyard in Coldstream. This little vineyard and farm cellar door will surprise you with their small range of hand-picked and minimally processed Pinot Noir, Rose and Cabernet Sauvignon.
